I recently stayed at Smugglers Rock in the beautiful countryside. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, and the room had a stunning view of the fields and sea. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a lovely shower. I appreciated the fresh bottled water from a local source and the eco-friendly heating and electricity. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to find Linda McCartney sausages on offer. The folder in the room provided interesting information about the building's history and the local area. The location was convenient for exploring the area around Robin Hood's Bay, and it was a peaceful and quiet retreat after a busy road trip. The building had character and the view from the breakfast room was spectacular. The hearty and tasty breakfast was a great way to start the day.

    100% Recommend this hotel.

Great value for money with a comfortable and well-appointed room, complete with special touches like a cafetiere and teapot on the tea tray. The guest lounge with its beautiful views and cozy sofas was a wonderful bonus. The staff provided warm and friendly service throughout our stay. We would gladly return to this charming villa.

For breakfast choices, it would be nice to have an earlier option available for guests who need to leave early in the morning.

It was our first visit to the area and we were delighted to find a tranquil location with stunning views of the fields and sea from our room. the room itself was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely shower. We particularly appreciated the fresh bottled water provided from a local source and the interesting folder in the room, explaining the history of the building and the local area. Breakfast was delicious, with Linda McCartney sausages on offer for us vegetarians. the hostess was friendly and the heating and electricity were from eco-friendly sources. the little milk bottles in the room were a nice touch too.

The walls were quite thin and we could hear noise from the room next door.

The hosts were fantastic and made me feel right at home. The room was clean and comfortable, with extra tea and coffee available. Breakfast was superb, and I couldn't ask for a better way to start the day. The location was also great for exploring the surrounding area, including the beautiful coastal walks and charming villages. The availability of fast WiFi was a bonus, and there was plenty of parking space. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway.

The bed was a little small, but it didn't hinder my overall enjoyment of the stay. There were occasional issues with the TV signal, but there were plenty of other things to keep me entertained.

The breakfast variety was impressive, with delicious homemade jams and marmalade to try. the peaceful and quiet atmosphere provided the perfect setting for relaxation and contemplation.

There was a limited choice of bed sizes, with only doubles and four-poster doubles available. It would have been nice to have the option of a king-size bed.
